When our Executive Team realized that Klamath Falls had a problem with its Recycle Program, we began working with community and business leaders to carve out a solution. A task force led by REACH, invested two years into research and development to provide a solution for the growing curbside recycle problem. Klamath Falls OR REACH is only weeks away from opening its Recycle Sort Line, located inside our Maywood Drive Facility. REACH Inc. has acquired and installed a brand new Pallet Grinder for our wood mill facility. This new pallet grinder is able to “eat” thoroughly and completely grind whole or partial pallets. This will then turn them into wood chips in a single pass. while utilizing several powerful magnets to pull nails and other metallic objects from the material. Employing the pallet grinder into our workflow, REACH can decrease the amount of time it takes to dismantle old broken pallets and other wood with nails. Previously REACH would manually tear apart pallets and pull nails from the lumber, often needing to cut around hard to remove nails. Which then have to be disposed of. Today, on August 31, 2017 @ 10:00 A.M, we at REACH Inc. had a Ground Breaking Ceremony to celebrate the start of construction on our building expansion. Joining in on the celebration was our business, financial, and community partners including; The Klamath County Chamber of Commerce, Washington Federal, ZCS Engineering, Craft3 and NCIF. Executive Director Ron Moe started the formal Ground Breaking off with a moving speech thanking each and every one involved with the project as well as a special shout out to Zelda Langdal the founder of what would eventually evolve into REACH Inc., This, in turn, led into the breaking of ground by Don Young, Treasurer of the REACH Inc board of directors for a golden photo opportunity.
