Being safe is a concern at all manufacturing facilities, even more so for us. Safety is number 1 at REACH, no exceptions. With our unique mission of employing people with disabilities and maintaining a high level of safety is a challenge unto itself. This would be enough to keep anyone awake at night worrying about the well being of our employees. Although our record has not always been the best but in recent years, It has massively changed for the better. This is due to the diligence and leadership of Safety Manager: Gary Kester fostering our culture of being safe. Everyone has caught on, and produced the results of a highly safe workplace. According to Gary “Safety is a team effort, everyone from clean up, to equipment operators, to office and management staff have bought into the safety process that’s what has allowed us to go without a serious accident for quite a while.”

The truth of the matter is that REACH has been more than three years without a lost time accident, that’s almost unheard of in the industry. This prompted Gary to call everyone together and throw a party! On February 10th we served tri-tip, beans, and potato salad to everyone for lunch and with the help of Board members Zelda Langedale and Don Young , Executive Director Brett Blofsky handed out commemorative t-shirts and certificates to everyone.
Congratulations everybody safety is so very important thank you Gary!
